SOUTH Staffordshire MP Gavin Williamson is set to visit one of Kinver's best kept secrets later this month.

Mr Williamson is set to be a special guest of the Allotment Association on Friday August 29.

The site, which is strictly kept under wraps, has thrived since the Allotment Association was formed back in 2009 to the point where it has become a hub of the community.

It received a grant of almost £8,000 from Awards for All and has also been supported by the Ken Wrigley Memorial Charity, The Anthony and Gwendoline Wylde Memorial Charity in addition to Kinver Parish Council and County Councillor Brian Edwards.

Since their formation, the Allotment Association has gone from strength to strength.

They host a number of events, selling their own produce, with much of the proceeds being ploughed back into the Association.

They have also created their own community garden, which people are allowed to visit.
