A WORDSLEY scout will "never forget" a recent trip to London, where he visited 10 Downing Street and toured the Houses of Parliament.

Harry Halford's flying visit to the captial last weekend was to celebrate a year countdown until the World Scout Jamboree in Japan, where he will join 30,000 scouts from around the globe for the experience of a lifetime.

The 17-year-old and his fellow scouts were greeted at Westminster by the Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond before being taken on a guided tour of the Houses of Parliament.

Plenty of photographs were taken outside 10 Downing Street before the unit boarded the tube to get an idea of what it will be like to travel around Japan.

Harry said: β€œIt is not everyday one gets the chance to visit 10 Downing Street and the Houses of Parliament. It was something I will never forget.

"Now I am looking forward to the amazing experiences that await us in 12 months time at the Jamboree.”

During the 20-day Jamboree, Harry will camp, live and work with other scouts as they find out about each others countries, cultures and faiths and learn new skills.
