BLACK Country families can enjoy an action-packed bank holiday weekend at Halfpenny Green Airport.

The Wings and Wheels event will take place at the Bobbington airfield, from 10am to 4pm, on Sunday (August 24) and Monday (August 25).

Attractions will include RAF aircrafts, Daleks from Doctor Who, classic cars, large scale model aircraft, traction engines, military vehicles and displays, an aircraft and military memorabilia market and a barbecue.

Visitors will also have chance to take a trial helicopter lesson or enjoy a pleasure flight in a 1934 Dragon Rapide airliner or a four-seat light aircraft.

Organiser Vaughan Meers said: “It’s a great family event.”

Proceeds from the weekend will go to Wolverhampton Museum of Transport, Halfpenny Green Air Scouts, Help For Heroes and the RAF Association.

Admission on the gate is £6 for adults, £3 for children and £15 for a family ticket.
