STOURBRIDGE youngster Jamie Shepherd experienced what it was like to be a paramedic for the day thanks to the Wishing Well charity.

Steve Ford arranged the treat for the 13-year-old through his Dudley-based charity, which makes dreams come true for hospitalised youngsters.

The Ridgewood High School pupil, who spent four days in Russells Hall Hospital in May after being struck down with appendicitis, spent time with paramedics at the West Midlands Ambulance station in Dudley today (Friday).

His mum Claire Shepherd said: “He has always wanted to be a paramedic since he was young so he really enjoyed it. He looked through the ambulance and saw all the equipment and wants to be a paramedic even more now. I think Wishing Well are brilliant."

Kind-hearted Kingswinford wishmaster Mr Ford has been running his Wishing Well charity for more than 20 years and has arranged for hundreds of children to meet celebrities, ride in fast cars and limousines and try out a host of dream come true activities.

He said of Jamie's surprise: “He really wants to be a paramedic so I think this was an educational experience."
