KINGSWINFORD company Mechatherm International have been celebrating after winning their third Queen's Award for Enterprise.

Mechatherm were handed the UK's highest business accolade for their outstanding growth in overseas earnings.

The High Street company was established in 1973 and can boast contracts from around the world.

Managing director Chris Emes said: "We are very proud of carrying the British flag for heavy engineering.

"Since our formation, Mechatherm has won over £250million worth of contracts running through our books, which has generated an average of over 60 permanent jobs and significant business for our local suppliers.

"Mechatherm is representing team GB on a permanent basis in the global aluminium industry and bringing home many medals."

The company was presented with an engraved crystal bowl to mark their Queen's Award success by the West Midlands Lord Lieutenant Paul Chandrasekharan Sabapathy.

It capped a great year for the company who have also won the Black Country Business Award for International Trade.

The company can also look forward to a celebratory reception at Buckingham Palace and can use the Queen's Award emblem in advertising, marketing and on packaging for the next five years.
