A HIRSUTE Wordsley man will face the razor to raise funds for two charities that support people with multiple sclerosis.

MS Society and MS Trust are causes close to Richard Cradock's heart as a close friend has suffered with the condition for more than 20 years.

The 51-year-old of Barnett Lane, has made the bold decision to shave off the beard and moustache he has had for 23 years in a bid to raise £500.

Mr Cradock, a contract manager for railway plant company, Geismar, has already raised £350 with online donations.

The big shave will take place on Saturday September 27 at The New Inn, Wordsley at 7pm.

Mr Cradock said he is unsure his family and friends will recognise him after the big shave and is already planning his next hairy charity challenge, adding: "Now is the time to do it so I can grow it back for Movember."
