STOURBRIDGE property investors could be onto a dead cert as the Co-Operative funeral care building in Hagley Road is currently up for sale.

Selling agents Walton and Hipkiss are looking for offers of £450,000 for the premises.

The ground floor is utilised as a funeral parlour which is leased to West Midlands Co-operative until 2019.

It comes complete with a chapel of rest and a mortuary with ancillary storage, while upstairs contains two office suites.

Alan Knight, head of commercial property at Walton and Hipkiss, said: "The property was originally built for Dudley Building Society and resembles a concrete bunker as it had it's own walk-in strong room. The original tenant was a structural engineer, so the building was built to last.

"We've already had considerable interest in the property which presents a great investment opportunity. As you would expect, it offers a very quiet and calm environment."
