SLUDGE metal band Godsize are returning to The River Rooms this weekend for what was originally supposed to be a one-off reunion show to satisfy public demand.

The band, who split in 2011, will be back together at their spiritual home on Sunday October 19 after fans pleaded for one more show.

However, the gig has earned the four-piece a slot supporting Raging Speedhorn at the O2 Academy in Birmingham on December 8 - and a London gig in January at The Windmill in Brixton.

Since going their separate ways - bandmates Kris Chambers (vocals) and Dan Kendrick (bass) have been playing in country music outfit God's Country; while Keiron Rose (drums) and Scott Cooper (guitar) have been playing in sludge doom rock act Burden of the Noose.

The four original band mates have not shared a stage together since 2002 but with interest in their reformation gathering they have been toying with the idea of a more permanent reunion - or at least putting on annual bash at the River Rooms.

Their outing this Sunday will include support from SLAB, Selfless and Biffs Cane. Doors open at 5.30pm and the first band will kick off at 6pm.

Tickets, priced £3 each, are available on the door, from the venue on 01384 397177 or direct from Kris by emailing krisgodsize@hotmail.co.uk
