FAMILIES can take part in a free walking event in Dudley on Sunday (November 9).
The event has been organised by Network West Midlands, with support from Dudley Council and Amey.
It is hoped it will encourage people to take on walking as a form of healthy and sustainable transport as part of the borough’s ‘let’s get active’ campaign.
People taking part in the interactive walk will undertake a five mile guided walk, setting off from Dudley Leisure Centre from 11.15am.
The route will take in local landmarks and attractions including the Black Country Museum and Wrens Nest Nature Reserve.
Free health checks and goodie bags will also be on offer at the centre from 10am and anyone completing the walk will get a free seven-day swimming pass for Dudley Leisure Centre, as well as a certificate.
Councillor Khurshid Ahmed, cabinet member for transport, said: “This is a great community event that highlights the health benefits of walking as a form of transport."
