FAMILIES are invited to wrap up warm and take part in a community Christmas sing-a-long in Wollescote.

The festive event will take place in the park, outside Wollescote Hall, on Friday December 12.

Vee Ward, one of the newest members of the Friends of Wollescote Park group, came up with the idea during a brainstorming session.

Fellow member, Craig Lees said: "The setting is amazing at any time of the year but we just imagined it would be even more magical to hold a Christmas style evening where people and their families could simply turn up and have a good old fashioned sing song.

"The main thing is that people just turn up feeling festive and let rip to some traditional carols and favourite Christmas songs.

"The friends group just wanted to create something special for everyone who lives round the Lye, Wollescote and surrounding areas."

Gates will open at 6.30pm, with carols starting at 7pm.

Admission is free and there will be free mince pie for all.
