CHILDREN will be able to meet Santa when he returns to Wordsley's Red House Glass Cone.

Santa will welcome youngsters to his Christmas tree lined crystal grotto, complete with snow and twinkling lights on December 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 22 and 23.

The grotto will be open between 10.30am and 3.30pm and visits include a gift, craft activity, packet of reindeer food, Christmas trail, a self guided tour of the historic site and glassmaking demonstrations.

Parents are welcome to bring a camera along to take photos of Santa with their little ones.

Councillor Hilary Bills, cabinet member for environment and culture said: “The Santa experience at the cone is getting more popular every year, with families turning it into a day out and school groups making it a fun half-day activity for youngsters.”

A visit to see Santa costs £7.50 per child, or £5 for children too young to take part in the craft activity.

Additional weekday sessions are available for schools and nurseries and block bookings for brownies, scouts and other groups are available during the week and at weekends.

Booking is essential by calling 01384 812754.
