A SMALL Norton business has been chosen to represent the region in a national campaign.

Leaders of the Small Business Saturday campaign, which encourages people to shop locally, selected hair removal specialists Tej and Co to be profiled in national media.

Owner Tej Chang started the business from her home in 2002 and since then the business has grown and now employs three people at its salon on South Road.

She said: "Small Business Saturday captured my imagination and it’s a real honour to have been selected as the regional representative."

Councillor Judy Foster, cabinet member for regeneration at Dudley Council and Steve Parker, Black Country chairman of the Federation of Small Business, visited to the business recently to discuss the event, which will take place on December 6.

Cllr Foster said: “It was a pleasure to meet with Tej and find out more about her successful business, it goes to show what can be achieved with specialist knowledge and hard work.”

During the event, which takes place in Stone Street Square, Dudley, newly emerging home based businesses will exhibit and sell their stock at a Christmas market between 10am and 4pm.

To encourage shoppers to visit local shops, they will benefit from free parking in Dudley town centre and all council owned car parks across the borough on December 6, 13 and 20.
