BOOK worms at The Ridge Primary School in Wollaston walked away as winners of this year's Dudley School's Library Service book quiz.
Jools Hollick, Grace Wells, Lily Timperley, and Chloe Everton, all aged ten, Grace Tong, aged nine, and team captain Amelia Higgins, aged 11, were the winning team mates from the Gregory Road school.
The pupils, who are in years five and six, beat teams from The Glynne Primary School in Kingswinford and Newfield Park Primary in Halesowen to be crowned winners of the competition, which aims to get youngsters reading.
Headteacher Deb Hudson said: "They had to read six books which they had to know in detail and they were asked lots of questions about the stories and the authors - and general knowledge questions about books.
"They went through a series of different rounds to reach the final and they came away as champions. They've done incredibly well."
The winning team-mates each received a goody bag, medal and a book, plus a commemorative shield for the school.
