MIDLANDS Air Ambulance have been given a tree-mendous surprise by two Twitter based fairies.

Magic and Sparkle, known as @TheTwoFairies on the social networking site, have given the charity a six foot Christmas tree.

The duo have been working under the Twitter alias to journey across the country delivering random acts of kindness.

The fairies' Twitter followers had nominated the charity, which responds to around 2,000 missions each year, to receive the tree.

Jon Cottrell, corporate fundraising assistant at the charity, said: “The flight paramedics and doctors work 365 days a year on our three air ambulance helicopters.

"While the festive period is a very special time for all of us, six members of the clinical aircrew and three pilots will be working on Christmas Day.

"The arrival of the Two Fairies Christmas tree and decorations was a wonderful surprise, and it’s now sat pride of place at our Strensham airbase in Worcestershire.”
