KINGSWINFORD youngsters embraced the spirit of Christmas when they donated presents to under-privileged children.

Each year, children at Glynne Primary School's before and after school club receive a gift from management.

However this year, the kind-hearted children suggested they should donate their presents to others and chose the Operation Santa Toy Appeal, run by Dudley CVS.

The 75 pupils chose toys they would like to receive themselves - up to the value of £15 - and they were then delivered to the CVS office in Brierley Hill.

The annual toy appeal has been bringing a smile to children’s faces across the borough for more than 20 years.

Eileen Fielding who co-ordinates the appeal, said “We have been almost overwhelmed with donations this year, over 10,000 at the last count.

"There are 15,000 children living in Dudley households where income is below the poverty threshold, so we hope we can bring a little bit of Christmas joy to a large proportion of them this year.”
