A 48-YEAR-OLD man has admitted stabbing two Stourbridge sisters in a knife attack.

John Loveridge pleaded guilty to wounding Jessica Brookes with intent to cause her grievous bodily harm.

He further admitted wounding Amy Brookes with intent to cause her grievous bodily harm in the same incident on October 31 last year.

Loveridge further admitted assaulting the sister’s grandmother Sylvia Titley causing her actual bodily harm.

And he pleaded guilty to being in possession of a kitchen knife in Robins Close, Oldswinford.

Jessica Brookes, the former partner of Loveridge, sustained stab wounds to her neck and arm while Amy Brookes suffered a stab wound to the chest.

Judge Robin Onions further remanded Loveridge, who appeared before Wolverhampton Crown Court via a prison video link, in custody until March 27.

He told him a pre-sentence report was necessary before the case could be finalised and he added: “There should also be a risk assessment to see if Loveridge represents a serious risk of serious harm to the public.”

Christopher O’Gorman said a psychological report would also be prepared on Loveridge who, he added, had no recollection of the incident.

He told the court the reasons why he “exploded” on the day in question had yet to be explored.

It was accepted the object of his anger had been Jessica Brookes, the mother of his child, but the reasons behind his actions had yet to be determined.

The court was told Loveridge had previous convictions for offences including battery and violent disorder.

It is expected the case will be opened in full by the prosecution when Loveridge of The Steps, Harvington, Evesham, next appears before the court.
