Good morning! The weekend is almost upon us and the last thing you want is to get caught up in traffic.

8.34am – One lane of the M6 southbound between J10 (Wolverhampton) and J9 (Wednesbury) is closed because of an obstruction on the road.

Traffic queues are forming on the A491 southbound in Lydiate Ash, Bromsgrove due to roadworks.

8.08am  - Due to roadwords motorists are facing delays in Gospel End on the A463 Gospel End Road  between Wombourne and Sedgley.

All lanes have now reopened on the M6 southbound following an earlier accident.

8.02am  - Midland Metro has announced that the 8.08am tram to Birmingham will not be running.

7.40am – Coventry Road in Yardley is blocked because of an accident causing queuing traffic eastbound between Forest Road junction and Swan Island. Police are directing traffic.

One lane is still closed on the M6 southbound, traffic is backing up to J10 (Wolverhampton) with delays of 25 minutes expected.

7.29am - Overall it's quite quiet on the roads this morning but an accident on the A45 Coventry Road in Birmingham  has blocked the road heading out of city at Henry Road.

7.14am – Traffic is starting to build up in the usual places, including Manor Way in Halesowen at the Grange Road roundabout and Dudley Port at the Sedgley Road East traffic lights junction.

6.55am – An overturned car has closed one lane of the M6 southbound around J6 (Aston Expressway Spaghetti Junction). Delays are expected.

Meanwhile traffic is busy but moving on the Droitwich Road, Worcester at Perdiswell Island.

Motorist travelling on the M42 can also expect delays due to the number of people going to Crufts at the NEC, Birmingham.
