THE race for Westminster is on and the Stourbridge News will be covering the campaign in four  constituencies.

The Stourbridge constituency was won from Labour in 2010 by Conservative Margot James who took 42.7 per cent of the vote to gain a majority of 5,146.

Labour came second with 31.7 per cent, the Lib Dems were third with 16.4 per cent and UKIP were fourth 4.5 per cent.

Dudley South was also a Tory gain last time around, Chris Kelly, who is not standing for re-election, won with 43.1 per cent which gave him a majority of 3,856. Labour gained 33 per cent, the Lib Dems collected 15.7 per cent and UKIP scooped 8.2 per cent.

The Staffordshire South constituency covers the Kinver and Stourton area and is considered a very safe Conservative seat. In 2010 Gavin Williamson collected a whopping 53.2 per cent of the vote to take a majority of 16,590, Labour got 20.3 per cent, the Lib Dems came in with 16.7 per cent and UKIP managed 5.5 per cent.

THE Bromsgrove constituency covers the Hagley area and the general election race would produce a high-profile scalp of control were to change hands. The seat was held for the Conservatives in 2010 by Sajid Javid who is currently culture minister in the outgoing Westminster coalition.

Mr Javid won 43.7 per cent of the vote to take a healthy majority of 11,308, Labour came second with 21.8 per cent. The Lib Dems were third in 2010 with a 19.6 per cent share while UKIP were fourth with 5.7 per cent.
