Gornal Athletic manager Simon Williams was furious as his side were again beaten by one of the West Midland Premier League's relegation threatened teams.

The Peacocks have struggled to beat lowly sides all season and suffered another setback at the weekend when they were beaten 2-1 at Shawbury and the angry manager has promised changes.

He said: "It has to be a question of attitude.

"The boys have no trouble playing the top sides but against the so-called lesser teams they seem to think they can cruise. I've had enough, it has got to stop.

"Losing silly games cost us the league last season but we haven't learnt from that at all."

Williams says he is chasing at least three new signings in the next week and added: "One of the lads concerned plays two divisions higher up the non-league pyramid and would be a major signing for us.

"We won't be getting rid of any players but some of them will lose their places. We have made it clear its up to them to get their shirts back and they will have to show better attitudes to do that."

The Athletic boss hopes that he can add at least two new players to his squad to face another one of the divisions strugglers, Bustleholme, this weekend (kick off 3pm) and said: "Realistically we can't win the league now, but as far as I'm concerned we are already planning for next season. We must make sure we are strong."
