Lye Town lost their second league game in row last weekend when they crashed 3-0 to rock bottom Ludlow Town.

Town had been looking to get back to winning ways after slipping to surprise home defeat to Bustleholme the week before but manager Geoff Moss admitted that a victory never looked likely.

He said: "We did not play very well at all and we were well beaten.

"We were not helped when lost four players through injury and illness but that is no excuse."

Lye did actually score the first goal on the afternoon only to see it controversially ruled out for offside - a decision that left Moss upset.

"The officials need to sort out this offside rule. There are so many different interpretations.

"The lad that scored was not offside but our striker was, but you could get another linesman who would have given the goal. All we are all asking for is a bit of consistency."

This weekend sees Lye in action against another of the struggling sides, when they host relegation threatened Ledbury (ko 3pm).

Town will be without midfielders Matt Blakemore and Ashley Greenaway through suspension but Moss says that rather than bringing in new signings he will look to give youth it's chance. "I shall draft a couple of lads in from the youth team. That is the way I like to do things. It is hard for them as it is quite a physical league, but if they do not play they will not learn."
