THIS is the face of “dangerous” John Loveridge who was jailed for ten-and-a half-years after savagely stabbing two Stourbridge sisters with a kitchen knife.

The 48-year-old left his former partner Jessica Brookes and sister Amy Brookes needing emergency surgery after lashing out with the large knife in the horrific attack in their Oldswinford home on Halloween last year.

Loveridge, of The Steps, Harvington, Evesham, then turned the weapon on himself, slashing his own throat, and it was only prompt intervention by two police officers that saved his life.

The victims’ 88-year-old grandmother Sylvia Titley, who had a broken arm at the time, was also pushed to the floor by Loveridge whom Judge Nicholas Webb described as “dangerous”.

When sentencing at Wolverhampton Crown Court earlier this month, the judge said Loveridge posed a serious risk of future harm to members of the public and he would only be allowed back onto the streets when the parole board deemed him safe.

In the vicious attack, which happened in Robins Close, Loveridge stabbed Amy Brookes three times in the neck, arm and chest and she suffered a collapsed lung.

Jessica Brookes, the mother of his child, was stabbed in the throat and also received a serious hand injury as she tried to defend herself.

Loveridge, who carried out the brutal assault after a two-day drinking session, admitted wounding the sisters with intent to cause them grievous bodily harm.

He also admitted assaulting Mrs Titley causing her actual bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon.

The court heard the victims had been forced to move home as a result of the attack and the judge said, on release from prison, Loveridge’s licence would be extended for a further five years.

He was also slapped with a restraining order forbidding him from having any future contact with the victims.

Christopher O’Gorman, defending, said Loveridge was full of remorse for what he did.
