LYE Town Football Club's under-14 side is looking to branch out next season by moving into the coveted Midland Junior Premier League.
As a result, they will be holding a series of trials for players, starting next Tuesday May 26 at Brown Westhead Park in Wolverley at 6.30pm.
Mark Holdnall, who is organising the trials, said: "This is a massive step up for us as we'd previously been running as a Sunday side in the Stourbridge and District Youth League.
"The MJPL has been designed to help bridge the gap between grassroots football and academy level.
"It's not necessarily about results, but more about the development of players to give them the best possible chance of going onto have trials at professional academies.
"Obviously we would have liked the trials to take place closer to home but many of the pitches in Dudley borough are simply not of a sufficient standard."
Any players interested need to be currently in school year eight to qualify and should contact Mark Holdnall on 07577 366651 to book their place or email mark.holdnall@me.com
