A BLACK Country author has celebrated the launch of his latest book at Stourbridge's International Festival of Glass.

Whiskers on Kittens, Graham Fisher's latest offering celebrating Stourbridge's sparkling glass industry, was launched at the Webb Corbett Visitor Centre in Amblecote on Sunday May 31 as part of the four-day glass festival held at venues around the Stourbridge Glass Quarter.

Mr Fisher MBE, who has penned several books on the subject, said: "This was my third book launch at three successive International Festival of Glass festivals - an achievement of which I am understandably proud."

The former Kingswinford based broadcaster and author said the book, co-written by retired glass-maker Ian Dury, "is a celebratory romp through the majesty of Stourbridge glass from the perspective of a few of my favourite things - hence the title".

The 96-page book, priced £12.50, is available from glass venues in the Stourbridge Glass Quarter, online from Amazon or direct from the publisher by emailing sparrow.publishing@mac.com.

All proceeds will go to the British Glass Foundation.
