CHAMPION fundraiser Sue Williams will be looking to swell the coffers of Mary Stevens Hospice still further by hosting an afternoon tea at picturesque Park Hall in Blakedown this Thursday (July 2) from 2pm until 5pm.

Visitors will be able to enjoy tea, coffee, cake, sandwiches and light entertainment at a cost of £12 per person.

It's the latest in a long line of events organised by Clent-based Sue who has been raising money for the Stourbridge hospice for the past five years.

Her most recent event, an evening with Edwina Currie, raised £2,700 for the hospice and Sue doesn't intend to stop there.

She already has a sponsored dog walk lined up on the Clent Hills at the end of September.

And she is also organising a fashion show in Hagley for November.

Sue also intends to stage a fourth celebrity dinner next spring.

In total, Sue has already raised in excess of £17,000 for Mary Stevens Hospice and said: "It's something that's close to my heart.

"I lost two very good friends who spent their last days at Mary Stevens Hospice and that's where I saw at first hand, the wonderful work they did."

Lucy Baylis, community fundraiser for the hospice, added: "Sue is a great supporter and really enthusiastic about raising money for the hospice. I'm sure her afternoon tea event will prove another huge success and I invite people to come and join us."
