A WOLLASTON primary school is celebrating its 30th anniversary by opening up its doors to the public today.
St James's Primary School, in Kingsway, is inviting local residents to an open day as well as tours of the building and grounds throughout the day.
The tours this afternoon take place at 1.30pm and 2.30pm, while a museum has also been set up to showcase the history of the school.
The museum will also display the work of the pupils in the present day and will be open until 7pm this evening.
Sally Sixsmith, headteacher, said: “Our staff and pupils would love to welcome as many visitors as possible.”
As the school started life in 1985, pupils recently took part in a 1980s themed 30th birthday party.
A number of students got into the grove by putting on their most stereotypical 80s style outfits while sampling the school’s specially created birthday cake.
