A 50-year-old man has died in Brierley Hill as a result of a serious collision on Pedmore Road at the junction with The Gateway.

West Midlands Police officers were called to the scene just before 7pm on Tuesday evening (June 30) following a collision between a white Honda motorbike and a white Ford van.

As a result of the collision, the rider of the motorbike came off his bike and, despite the efforts of passers-by and ambulance staff, his injuries proved fatal.

Police are now appealing for witnesses following the tragic incident.

Sergeant Alan Wood, from the Regional Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Enquiries into the collision are still in their early stages, and I am keen to trace any additional witnesses who have not yet provided their details to us.

“The family of the man have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this time."

The driver was spoken to at the scene and enquiries are on-going.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is urged to call Sergeant Wood on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
