IT’S Friday! We’ve made it to the end of the working week and the weekend is here. So, as usual, we are here to hopefully help you avoid the worst of the congested areas.

We’re hearing there are a few issues on the motorways. There is heavy congestion on the M6 northbound at junction 7 because of an oil spillage caused by a broken down vehicle. There is congestion all the way to Junction 8, M5.

A broken down vehicle is also causing problems on the M42 northbound between J6 for A45 Birmingham Airport and J7, M6 at Coleshill. There is congestion to J3a of the M40.

And road works mean traffic travelling on the M6 southbound, between Junction 10 and J8 M5 is going slow.

Elsewhere, ongoing road works are causing congestion across the Black Country and North Worcestershire. These include:

*A456 Manor Way, Halesowen. There is a speed restriction of 20mph in both directions between Hayley Green and Grange Road roundabouts because of resurfacing works.

*A449 Chester Road North in Kidderminster. Gas main works are taking place between The Rose Theatre and Hurcott Road traffic lights junction.

*A458 Park Road in Lye. Temporary traffic lights are in operation between Hingley Road and B4173 Colley Lane junctions.
