FOLLOWING their one-night comeback being announced as a sell-out, a legendary Stourbridge blues band have added an extra date to their much anticipated return.

The Red Lemon Electric Blues Band will be celebrating their 30th anniversary with two reformation gigs featuring line-ups packed with top musicians.

Friends, fans and some famous faces will be among the crowds flocking to the homecoming gigs in their native town.

Television presenters Adrian Chiles and Suzi Perry will be on hand to celebrate the reunion having been a bass player and a dancer and backing vocalist in the band respectively.

BBC Formula 1 host Suzi, whose dad managed the band, said: “The Red Lemons were such a massive part of my youth.

“My dad managed them, I appeared on stage with them, and I’m super excited about this nostalgic night coming up.

“I might even drag Adrian up onstage with me!”

Stourbridge News:

The band formed in 1985 and became a massive hit playing Rhythm and Blues around the UK at their own headline gigs and supporting huge stars like Chuck Berry, Robert Plant, Chaka Khan and Edwin Starr.

They created a look and sound straight out of Chicago after drawing inspiration from iconic movie ‘The Blues Brothers’.

Frontman and founder of the bad, Jim Merris, said: “We’re like a family - we have such a good time together and it is going to be a brilliant night!”

Now known simply as The Red Lemons, their second reunion gig – due to overwhelming public support after their Friday night show on September 11 sold out – will take place at Stourbridge Town Hall on Saturday, September 12.
