TWO Hagley girl guides have been celebrating after they received the organisation’s highest accolade.

Young adult leaders Rachel Pugh and Becky Hall have each been awarded the Queen's Guide Award after completing a number of challenges over a three year period including service in guiding, an outdoor challenge, personal skill development, community action and a residential role.

In addition to completing the award, both girls have continued to play active roles in guiding.

Becky Hall runs a guide unit in Halesowen, while Rachel Pugh has been an assistant rainbow leader in London while studying at university.

Rachel was officially presented with her Queen's Guide Award at a ceremony in London earlier this year by chief guide Gill Slocombe, while Becky will receive her award later this year.

Debbie Carter, senior section advisor for the Hagley Division, said: "Their dedication and commitment to Girlguiding by undertaking this individual challenge is already inspiring younger members to take on the challenge of the Queen's Guide Award."
