THE first in a number of big name comedians heading to Stourbridge will appear live on stage next week.

Former Xtra Factor host Matt Richardson will headline the Katie Fitzgerald’s-based comedy club Fitz of Laughter on Friday, September 11.

The 23-year-old, who has been doing stand-up for almost six years, is well known for his appearances on a multitude of television comedy shows including Sweat the Small Stuff, Celebrity Juice and Viral Tap.

Matt, who headlined a 54-date UK tour entitled ‘Hometown Hero’ in 2013, is on the road again and will be stopping off in Stourbridge to mark the first year anniversary of the successful comedy club.

He will be supported by wrestler-turned-comedian Lee Kyle, ‘edgy’ South-African star Cokey Falkow and Dudley stand-up and MC Wayne Beese.

Starting this month, the club will move to a monthly Friday night slot and is already guaranteeing a number of top names in British comedy to drop by.

Wayne, the club’s resident compere, said the club is aiming for even more success as it heads into its second year.

He said: “We have targeted the very best on the circuit, we are putting on fully pro shows and we are bringing a number of familiar faces to Stourbridge to perform in an intimate venue.

“I hope people will come and give the nights a try – the feedback we have had from those who have has been fantastic so I know we are going in the right direction. It’s an exciting time.”

Tickets for Matt Richardson’s gig, costing £10 in advance or 15 on the door, are now on sale at www.wegottickets.com/event/328539 or by calling Wayne on 07507015397.
