TODDLERS and their parents are set to have a splashing time as a series of special swimming lessons are being held in Stourbridge.

Crystal Leisure Centre is holding 30-minute sessions, with tuition from qualified instructors, on Tuesdays at 9.45am and 10.15am and Wednesdays and Thursdays at 2pm and 2.30pm.

The courses aim to help parents introduce their children to water in a fun and relaxed way, where children can learn basic water skills through fun activities including nursery rhymes, games, toys and interaction with other toddlers.

Organised by Dudley Council, the courses run weekly for 13 weeks - excluding half term week - until the Christmas holidays.

Councillor Rachel Harris, cabinet member for health and wellbeing, said: “Introducing your children to swimming from an early age can be a brilliant opportunity for both yourself and your child.

“Swimming is a fun way to make sure your children become active and the sessions at the Crystal Leisure Centre are a great place to start.”

The cost of the full term is £52 with a 50 per cent discount applicable for Option+ leisure card holders.
