MARY Stevens Hospice supporters will be out in force this weekend.

Stourbridge folk will be doing their bit to help as part of Hospice Care week with a number of fundraising events taking place.

Army reservists based at Swinford Road will be going through their paces with a 24-hour stationary cycling marathon outside Tesco in the Crown Centre.

The reservists will start their period of pedal power at 6pm this Friday and continue through until 6pm on Saturday.

Reflect Skin and Beauty Clinic will be opening their doors in Victoria Passage to the public on Saturday from 10am until 4pm.

The clinic will be offering visitors free nail and skin treatments in exchange for a donation to the hospice.

Later in the evening, Penn Singers will be pulling out all the stops for both Mary Stevens and Compton Hospices with a performance at Dudley Town Hall.

The Singers are hopeful their 'Voices for Hospices' event will raise around £3,000 with proceeds to be split between both hospices.

Comedian Doug Parker will be compering the event which starts at 7.30pm and features acclaimed tenor Russell Painter plus the Jackfield Brass Band who will be performing with the Penn Singers.

Mary Stevens Hospice lottery and special events manager Charlotte Schofield said: "The Penn Singers have members who live close to both hospices and they have split the proceeds on a number of previous events. We hope all these events will help to get the hospice out into the community."

There are still a few tickets available to see the Penn Singers which can be obtained by calling 01902 652992.
