A MUCH anticipated mass motorcycle event – raising money for Lye’s Midlands Air Ambulance Charity – is now open for registration.

The 2016 Bike4Life Ride Out and Festival will be the air ambulance charity’s sixth annual biking fundraiser, coinciding with its 25th anniversary celebrations.

Last year’s ride out was attended by more than 5,000 bikers, who followed seven-time World Superbike champion Carl Fogarty and TV presenter Richard Hammond along a 23-mile route to RAF Museum Cosford.

The upcoming edition will also feature a finish line festival at RAF Cosford, but this year will take place on the airfield, allowing for more visitors, displays and exhibitors.

Jason Levy, fundraising and marketing director, said: “Over 10,000 visitors attended the 2015 event, and we’re expecting a greater number to attend in 2016.

“We’re therefore moving the festival to a bigger site on the airfield to accommodate everyone – meaning this really will be our biggest and best year yet!

“We are already speaking to a number of famous faces to come and support the ride out, so do check out the website and our Facebook page to find out more.”

Only 5,000 places for pre-registered entrants are available on the ride out, with tickets priced at £10 – including free entry to the festival for the rider and a pillion.

Jason, the chair of the Bike4Life organising committee, added: “While encouraging bikers to come together and have a great time, above all our priority is to ensure all everyone attending remains safe, which is why only those who have preregistered for the ride out will be able to participate.”

Tickets for the festival alone, which will feature various trade stands, bike dealers, arena displays, live music and refreshments, cost £5 per person with children under 16 free.
