ALL households in Dudley will soon have the council’s waste collection calendars delivered through their doors in time for the new year.

Even though collection days will remain the same as they have been in 2015, the calendars have been designed to remind residents when to place their waste out for collection.

The calendars cover collection details for grey bins (non-recyclable waste), green bins (garden waste) and recycling containers, as well as tips on recycling.

Councillor Hilary Bills, cabinet member for environment, said: “This year we have taken the opportunity to redesign our recycling and waste collection calendars to include hints and tips about our scheme to help encourage residents to recycle more.

“There is often confusion about what can, and cannot, be recycled, for instance many people do not know that they can put plastic spray bottles and aerosols into the green bags and this leaflets aims to make this easier to understand.

“We produce this yearly calendar as our residents find it useful to have something to refer to when they are unsure what should be put out that week.”

Dudley Council are also reminding borough residents that collection times may vary from week to week, but if items have not been collected by 3pm, they can report a missed collection to Dudley Council Plus by calling 0300 555 2345.
