KINVER girl Gabrielle Hunt is really made up – after winning a top title for being a make-up artist.

Miss Hunt, of Dunsley Road, clinched the ‘Best Make-up Artist of the Year’ accolade at the prestigious Midlands Fashion Awards in Birmingham.

She impressed by showing "both technical skill and natural flare" working backstage at the awards alongside other finalists and renowned make-up artist Jules Cardozo-Marsh, who was one of the judges.

The 19-year-old set herself up as a mobile make-up artist about a year ago after gaining a qualification in theatrical and media make-up at Halesowen College.

She travels all over the country to make up models for fashion shoots and performers in independent films, as well as offering a service for weddings.

Miss Hunt won her award at the CBSO centre in Birmingham last month, which featured a catwalk show hosted by TV presenters Adele Roche and Chiara Glorioso.

As part of her prize, she also bagged herself a year's mentoring with Jules Cardozo-Marsh.

“I'm really grateful to have been given such a fantastic opportunity to showcase my skills and am honored to receive Best Make-up Artist," said Miss Hunt.

"The awards are such a wonderful platform for emerging make-up artists, stylists and designers and I’m so excited to see how this upcoming year plays out.

“To have Jules mentor me is a huge support - she really has a lot to offer as an artist and a businesswoman and will be a huge impact on my career."
