RUNNERS and Rotarians combined forces to raise much needed cash for Dudley based charity Action Heart.

Kinver Rotary members and friends dug deep into their pockets to raise a record £2,100 from the club's charity auction.

They arranged prizes which ranged from holiday apartments in Turkey to a conducted tour around Wenlock Edge to help reel in the cash, which was then combined with funds obtained from the Two Villages 10km run.

The event, which started and finished in the grounds of Enville Hall, attracted over 250 runners in addition to those who took part in a family fun run which was organised through Kinver Fitness Collective.

With main sponsors BodyKraft of Pensnett covering all the overheads, the race managed to raise £4,500, which was combined with the auction cash to provide in excess of £6,500 for Action Heart.
