ROMANTICS are being encouraged to give the gift of love this Christmas – and surprise their husband or wife with a special ceremony to say ‘I do’ all over again.

Partners, who want to prove their love lingers on, can buy a special renewal of vows gift certificate to give to their spouse this Christmas.

Dudley registrars are providing the gift service so couples can then book a renewal of vows ceremony, to celebrate their marriage, at Priory Hall next year.

And when the former Lye and Wollescote Chapels reopen as the Thomas Robinson Building in April, renewal services will also be available there.

A gift certificate to present on Christmas Day costs £50 which secures a date in the diary to surprise a loved one with.

And for partners, who want to pop the question, why not have a date already booked and present a wedding day gift certificate alongside the engagement ring.

Councillor Judy Foster, cabinet member for corporate and customer services, said: “What could be more special for a couple than renewing their wedding vows – and what a lovely way to surprise your loved one with a special certificate so you can plan a celebration of your marriage with family and friends in 2016.”
