THE BBC’s Top Gear will return to our screens on Sunday May 8, presenter Chris Evans has revealed.

During an interview with James Martin on BBC One’s Saturday Kitchen, Chris said the first episode would be screened the Sunday after filming finishes on Thursday May 5.

Chris said the team had “already started making the films”, adding: “We’re going to America to make our first inter-continental in January.”

Brian Friedman has become the second I’m A Celebrity contestant to be sent home after a tumultuous day in the jungle.

The creative director of The X Factor, 38, was unruffled by his exit after 17 days in camp, telling fellow contestants: “(Now) I get to eat!”

He told presenters Ant and Dec he had suspected before the vote was announced that he might be on his way out, saying: “Something in me said, pack yourself up and get ready to go home.”

Girl group 4th Impact has missed out on a place in next week’s X Factor semi-final by becoming the latest act to be eliminated from the show.

The group, being mentored by judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, landed alongside Rita Ora’s contestant Lauren Murray in the sing off.

The girls thanked the British public who voted for them saying: “You guys accepted us and welcomed us into your hearts and that’s unforgettable, thank you so much.”

Peter and partner Janette Manrara faced Kellie Bright and her partner Kevin Clifton in the dance-off, but his much-improved American smooth could not save him from leaving the competition.
