JOHN Steinbeck's classic tale Of Mice and Men is stopping off in the Black Country next month as part of its UK tour.

Telling the story of George and Lennie – two migrant farm workers – who go in search of new beginnings, the play will begin a five night run at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre from Tuesday, March 8.

Set during America’s Great Depression, the pair hope of attaining their shared dream: of putting together enough money to buy a small piece of land and building a home.

Dudley Sutton, best known for his role in the ITV classic Lovejoy, will play the role of Candy. Dudley is also a renowned stage actor who began his career in some of the most iconic plays of the sixties, including Jo Orton's Entertaining Mr Sloane and Tom Murphy's A Whistle In The Dark.

Running in the Black Country until Saturday, March 12, Of Mice and Men will be performed at 7.30pm each night, with matinee performances starting at 2.30pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Tickets, costing between £12 and £27, can be bought online at www.grandtheatre.co.uk or by calling the box office on 01902 429212.
