RUNNERS braved the stormy weather to take part in the annual Gavin Tipper 5K at Dudley Kingswinford Rugby Club last night (Thursday).
Athletes from DK Running Club and Tipton Harriers pounded the fields at the Wall Heath rugby club in memory of runner and rugby club member Gavin who scored the club’s only ever tri at Twickenham.
The event, which raises funds for Dudley’s Action Heart charity, went ahead despite the storm clouds hovering overhead – and the club, off Swindon Road, on the edge of South Staffordshire, miraculously seemed to escape the heavy downpours that flooded many parts of Stourbridge.
