FEARS of a road collapse after a hole appeared in the carriageway forced police to close off a main route into Stourbridge.
The hole was spotted near the Seven Stars pub, close to Stourbridge Junction, by an eagle-eyed News reader on Saturday and Stourbridge police tweeted earlier today (Sunday) that they had been forced to seal off Brook Road over fears the carriageway could give way.

Motorists were being urged to avoid the area and use Hagley Road and Rufford Road while highways officers attended the scene.
They have, however, just confirmed four tonnes of tarmac is being delivered to fill in the void and the road will be re-opened
