THE team behind quirky Stourbridge independent coffee shop The Coffee Collective have celebrated relocating and rebranding after outgrowing their previous base.
Owner Harriet Foster and the gang have transformed the old chemist's shop, previously Murray's Pharmacy, into the town's newest coffee house which they've called The Chemistry Cafe in an affectionate nod to the building's history.
She told the News: "We're really pleased to have moved to this great location. Stourbridge people have told us they're really excited at seeing the building being used again as it's such a beautiful space.
"We relocated from upper high street as after three years we'd really outgrown the space. This location was perfect, especially as it has a walled courtyard where people can enjoy a coffee outside in the sunshine.
"We're really thankful for all the support we've received during the move, with customers donating items for the shop and offering to help decorate and move furniture.
"It's great to feel like our shop is a part of the community."
She said the shop also does its bit to support other independents in the town - using Langs of Wollaston, Wardthorpes of Stourbridge and Brigstock dairies for its ingredients - and Harriet added: "For every pound spent in a small business 63p stays in local economy, versus 40p spent with a large business."
