THE Black Country Festival is almost over for another year but people can toast its success at the closing event.

Tomorrow (Friday) sees the return of the Dudley Beer Festival at Brierley Hill Civic Hall.

Running until Sunday (July 31), festival-goers can work their way through a selection of real ales from 12 of the Black Country's best brewers whilst watching some top notch entertainment.

Sessions will run from 12noon-4pm and 6pm-11:30pm each day.

The afternoon sessions will give people the chance to 'meet the brewers' and be entertained by Two Pats and The Fizzogs.

Friday night is comedy night with Dudley's Wayne Beese and TV stars Matt Richards, Nipper Thomas and Michael Crump plus kings of the puns Masai Graham.

Saturday is music night with live performances from the band behind the Black Country Anthem, The Empty Can and Flat Stanley, Jess Silk and radio star Katie Ann.

Sunday night is open mic night where budding performers will be invited to take to the stage to showcase their talents.

Dudley News:

Black Country Festival organiser, James Stevens, said "We have worked with the best Black Country breweries over the last two years as part of the Black Country Festival.

"I asked them if they would work together to bring back the Dudley Beer Festival and promote the Black Country and they were more than willing.

"Between the 12 breweries involved they have over 1,000 years experience and have brewed over one billion beers."

Real ales will be available from Holdens, Black Country Ales, Bathams, Fownes, Kinver Brewery, Sadlers, Pardoes, Enville, Pig Iron, Green Duck, Craddocks and Fixed Wheel Brewery.

Food will be provided by Dave Homer, also known as 'Balti Dave', the man behind the Mister Dave's curries, who will be serving up faggot and pays samosas.

"My experience is of Indian cooking in the main,” said Dave “however I wanted to use the opportunity to create something unique for event."

The event is open to anyone over the age of 18 and costs £4 for entry and £2 for collectable Dudley Beer Festival glass.
