A SERIES of Bank Holiday Weekend pub fun days look to have pulled in hundreds of pounds for Mary Stevens Hospice.

Free family fun days were held at The Rose and Crown in Halesowen, on Saturday August 27, The Park Tavern, Kingswinford, on Sunday August 28 and The Wall Heath Tavern, Wall Heath, on Saturday August 27 and Monday August 29 - with all proceeds raised going to the Stourbridge based hospice.

Events at The Rose and Crown, Hagley Road, and The Park Tavern, Cot Lane, included a bouncy castle, facepainting, barbecue, gin bar, real ale and live music - with Black Country Gaz among the entertainers.

While the Wall Heath Tavern, in Wall Heath High Street, played host to a bouncy castle, children’s playzone and magic show, outside bar and real ale.

Pub boss Dave Facer said the Saturday events proved a bit of a wash out due to the heavy downpours but the others went off "very well", especially the Monday bash.

He said money collected at the events has yet to be counted but he's hoping to have raised up to £500 for the hospice which is currently trying to raise £3million to create a new day centre.
