DUDLEY’S health chiefs will discuss a new model of working which will shape the future of health care across the borough at their latest board meeting.

Members of the public are invited to attend Dudley Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG) board meeting, which will focus on the Multi-specialty Community Provider (MCP) procurement and the outcome of their recent public consultation.

By creating a MCP, community health and care groups will be brought together as a single organisation to enable them to work more effectively for local people.

GP practices, nurses, community health and mental health services, physiotherapy, hospital specialists and others will be brought together by the MCP.

The new model is said to differ from what is in place before as the multiple separate organisations were working to different contracts with different objectives.

Paul Maubach, accountable officer for Dudley CCG, said: “The CCG welcome any member of the public to attend our board meetings.

“It is really important that the public are able to see how we make decisions on their behalf on health issues and that our local community are able to express their views on what we do.

“These meetings are one of many opportunities to do this.”

The meeting will be held on Thursday, September 29, between 1pm and 4pm, in the boardroom at Brierley Hill Health and Social Care Centre, in Venture Way.

Board papers are available to view at www.dudleyccg.nhs.uk If members of the public have any questions they would like to ask the board, email them to Lindsey.Harding@dudleyccg.nhs.uk by tomorrow (Tuesday, September 27).
