A STRAY bull that was seen running around a residential area in Bewdley on Sunday evening has been killed by police. 

West Mercia Police were alerted to the stray bull, which had escaped from a local farm, in a residential area on Kidderminster Road, at around 7pm on Sunday (October 16).  The animal's owner assisted police officers to locate the bull which was humanely put down at the scene at around 8pm.

DETECTIVES are still hunting a man following a fatal knife attack in Brierley Hill.

Police and paramedics were called to the High Street at around 4.45pm on Saturday (October 15) following reports a man had been stabbed with a knife outside the Dixi Chicken diner.

MYSTERY surrounds the sighting of a big cat on the prowl in Great Alne, near Redditch.

The animal, described as a large feline creature with leopard makings, was seen off Nightingale Close at 8.20am on Saturday, October 8. It is thought to be larger than a fox.

RESIDENTS in Cradley Heath were told to remain indoors following a chemical incident on Saturday.

Fire crews were urging residents to remain indoors and keep windows closed on Saturday (October 15) following a chlorine leak in Woods Lane. The public were also asked to avoid the area while firefighters dealt with the incident.

TAX payers in Bromsgrove are being warned that their direct debit payments will be taken out of their banks five days earlier than usual this month.

The money was set to be charged to residents on Friday, October 21, but a processing error made by Bromsgrove District Council has meant the payments were accidentally included in another routine bill due to come out on October 17.

A LUCKY couple will be tying the knot for free after winning a wedding at a newly-refurbished, historic Lye building.

Bride and groom to be Amy Lambeth and Stuart Hanson won a wedding, worth £370, in a Dudley Council prize draw at an open day at the Thomas Robinson building (the old Lye and Wollescote Cemetery Chapels) on Saturday (October 8).
