THIS year's spectacular Himley bonfire and fireworks display will have the crowds dancing to explosive hits from Michael Jackson, David Bowie, Adele and Queen.

Thousands of people are expected to attend Dudley Council's 40th big bonfire event at Himley Hall and Park on Saturday, November 5.

DJs from Heart FM will get people in the party mood from 6.30pm, the giant bonfire will be lit at 7.45pm and the fireworks spectacular is scheduled for 8.30pm.

Adrenaline junkies will be in their element thanks to Thomas Jones’ giant funfair and seasonal refreshments will be on offer throughout the night.

Councillor Khurshid Ahmed, cabinet member for planning and economic development, said: “We’re really excited about celebrating 40 years of Dudley Council’s bonfire and fireworks event and it’s great that people who remember going as children themselves are now taking their children and grandchildren to enjoy the fun.”

Tickets cost £9 for adults and £4.50 for juniors and senior citizens.

A family ticket for two adults and two children is available for £23 while children under the age of five go free.

Car parking costs £3 but there will be a free bus service is available from Dudley, Coseley, Sedgley, Quarry Bank, Brierley Hill, Halesowen and Stourbridge.
