A CALL is out for anyone called Carol to lend their voices to carol singing around the tree at Brierley Hill’s Christmas Festival.

Organisers are on the hunt for any lady with the festive name to be part of the event, which will take place on Saturday, December 3.

From 4.30pm, Brierley Hill Musical Theatre will lead the Carols singing in the run up to the lights switch-on at 5pm by the Deputy Mayor and Father Christmas.

Councillor Mohammed Hanif, Mayor of Dudley, said: “Everyone has come together in Brierley Hill including the traders, churches, Dudley Council for Voluntary Services and charities.

“The day sounds like it will be great fun. I hope people will take their families along, including anyone called Carol!”

Other activities taking place throughout the day include St Michael’s Church’s Christmas tree festival and craft fayre, a teenage market at the Moor Centre, young entertainers will be performing on stage throughout the day and Brierley Hill Musical Theatre will be performing songs from their panto, Cinderella.

Throughout the town youngsters can follow a trail around local businesses to find handmade woollen sheep from the nativity story, a craft fair will be at Brierley Hill Civic Hall from 1pm until 4pm where Father Christmas will also be in his grotto, before a carol concert is staged at the hall from 6pm.
