AMERICAN burger giant Five Guys has opened a brand new restaurant at intu Merry Hill today (Monday).

This is the first Five Guys branch to open in the Black Country and it has brought 35 jobs to Brierley Hill shopping centre, including five managerial positions.

With a choice of 15 different toppings on offer, the chain’s custom-built burgers have developed a cult-like following despite only launching in the UK in 2013.

Burger fan Tony Hill, aged 65, from Quarry Bank, was the first customer to enjoy a burger in the newly opened restaurant.

He said: “I’m really pleased Five Guys has opened in the centre. I told all of my friends yesterday that its opening today… it has definitely been worth the wait!”

Dan Murphy, general manager at Merry Hill, added: “Five Guys is an exciting new addition to intu Merry Hill.

“We are thrilled to provide yet another dining choice at the centre, which we are sure will prove very popular with our shoppers.”
