POLICE have launched a murder investigation following the death of a woman who turned up at a GP surgery in Rowley Regis with a stab wound.
Officers were called to Rowley Healthcare on Hawes Lane at around 3.50pm today (Monday February 6) and the woman, believed to be in her 50s, was treated by medical staff and taken to hospital.
Despite their best efforts to save her life, however, she died a short time later - a spokesman for West Midlands Police said.
A 54-year-old man was arrested at the surgery on suspicion of murder and is currently helping police with their enquiries.
The surgery has been cordoned off while forensic experts examine the scene but police say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the murder.
The woman has not yet been named.
